Industrial visit to Ahmedabad
NL Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research recently organized an industrial visit (5th October, 16 to 8th October, 16) to industries and premier institutes in Baroda and Ahmedabad for the students of PGDM-HR (2015-17)
The visit was organized under the guidance of Director In Charge Prof. (Dr.) Gulab Mohite and CEO of the institute Prof. Seema Saini. The visit was planned and guided by Prof. Bhaskar Joshi who also accompanied the students in the trip.
The students visited Zydex Industries, where a lecture was conducted by Head of HR- Mr. Rohan Lele and his team. The presentation covered topics like competency mapping, employee engagement, Performance Management System and Rewards and Recognition. Mr. Rohan Lele and his team explained to us the functioning of all these processes in detail and offered interesting insights into the role of HR in the organization. Apart from industrial experience, Sir also pointed out the importance of academics and applications of theory at workplace. After the presentation, there was an interesting session of Question and Answer. The lecture was indeed very insightful!
The students then travelled to ‘Amul’ in Anand where a lecture and a guided tour was organized, where we understood the functioning of a Dairy Industry and the role of HR in this industry. While in Anand, students also visited IRMA (Institute of Rural Management, Anand) where the students had the opportunity to tour the campus and also visit and view the extensive library. It was also interesting to learn about the types of courses offered at IRMA and how the syllabus is highly versatile. Also, the importance of CSR in organizations today.
Lastly, the students visited IIM- Ahmedabad, where a guided tour was organized. After visiting IIM, there was also a lecture by AMA – Ahmedabad Management Association.
The trip was indeed enriching and added interesting insights and value. The purpose of the trip was to gain practical knowledge and varied outlooks. We thank the management for the same.
