Ace Club of N.L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research organized a guest session on “Category Management, Merchandising, and Disruptions in Modern Retail”.
We feel extremely proud of the fact that we hosted Mrs. Jayani Mepani for this insightful session.
The takeaways from the session were:
The different steps involved in Category Management, which include different steps starting with defining the category to setting benchmarks, planning strategies, designating tactics, and implementing those tactics.
She also provided the students with some insights about merchandising which is largely dependent on the type of store.
Also, the Merchandise planning process which consists of developing the proper sales plan, determining the merchandise requirements, and controlling and managing the merchandise.
She also mentioned the various disruptions that would be brought about in future times.
