About E-Cell
The Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) is a student-driven body of N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research solely with the purpose to promote and inspire the entrepreneurial spirit among the students. We believe in facilitating the ideas and current start-ups on the campus to help develop them into businesses.
Our E-cell focuses on providing business knowledge and exposure to the students through seminars, events, debates, competitions, alumni interactions, and interactive sessions with existing Entrepreneurs and Venture Capitalists.

Nurtur-E, the Entrepreneurship Cell of N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research conducted its 3rd online podcast on 26th October 2021. The topic of the podcast session was ‘The Business Saga with Abhishek Kar’, and its objective was to help aspiring entrepreneurs develop the right mindset required to start business and their trading journey in stock market. The session took place under the guidance of the committee’s faculty heads, Prof. M.R.Koshti, and Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni.
Our guest speaker for the session Mr. Abhishek Karfull-time trader-cum-investor and the recipient of 98 national and prestigious honours, including the Young Leadership Award. Abhishek Kar is one of the most highly followed stock market enthusiast and entrepreneur
The host Atul Pandey along with co-host Akshat Singhstarted the podcast by introducing NLDIMSR’s Director, Mr. Vijay Ramchandran and CEO, Dr. Seema Saini, followed by the introduction of our esteemed speaker.
During the 75-minute session, the hosts put forward their questions and Sir provided us with his learnings and experiences over the years, and also gave instances on how he dealt with problems in the trading and investing world. Being an MBA himself, he spoke about how he dreamt about becoming an entrepreneur from his college days in the world of stock market.
Key Learnings:
- Try something at a very small level, start your trading journey with systematic investment planning at early age.
- Keep yourself updated with the financial world and financial knowledge by reading books, blogs and other info related items
- Always explore new opportunities and don’t stress out much on thinking about long term goals.
- Don’t start your entrepreneurial journey with a mindset of earning only money.
- Don’t sacrifice your education in order to walk onan entrepreneurial journey.
- Invest in India as our nation is presently capable of surpassing China in next 15-20 years.
- Never borrow your capital that will put you under pressure in the world of trading and investing.
- Focus more on learning, First LEARN then remove the L, and EARN.
- Initially, invest only in NIFTY 50 companies for 1-2 years to gain experience of trading and investing.

Report on 2nd Podcast Session
Nurtur-E, the Entrepreneurship Cell of N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research conducted its second online podcast on 21st July 2021. The topic of the 2nd podcast session was ‘Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset, Part-2’, and its objective was to help aspiring entrepreneurs having the mindset required to start a business.
Our guest speaker for the session Mr. Amit Kumar Agarwal is an alumnus of IIM Ahmedabad and IIT Kanpur. Amir Sir is the Founder and CEO of NoBroker.com, which is the world’s largest peer-to-peer real estate portal.
During the 50-minute session, the hosts Saumil Shah and Vishaldev Kadam put forward their questions and Sir provided us with his learnings and experiences over the years. He gave instances of how he dealt with problems in the entrepreneurial world. Being an MBA himself, he spoke about how he left the corporate ladder to build up to something of his own, and today, his company is the world’s largest peer-to-peer real estate portal.
Key Learnings:
- Try something at a very small level, pilot testing is imperative for validating the idea
- If you want to achieve something bigger, then you have to come out of your comfort zone
- Financial savings (of 12-18 months) should be planned before getting into start-up
- It’s a good idea to ask customers about what they need instead of being arrogant about your idea
- Always deal with money and customers with respect
- Family support plays an important role during weak points of the start-up journey
- Not taking risks is the biggest risk

Nurtur-E, the Entrepreneurship Cell of N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research conducted its first-ever online podcast on 3rd April 2021. The topic of the podcast session was ‘Developing an Entrepreneurial Mindset’, and its objective was to help aspiring entrepreneurs having the mindset required to start a business. The session took place under the guidance of the committee’s faculty heads, Prof. Anand Dhutraj and Dr. Vaishali Kulkarni.
Our guest speaker for the 1st podcast was Mr. Pranav Patadia, Co-founder of Insomniacs, with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry. Sir is skilled in digital strategy, advertising, sales, and integrated marketing.
The CEO of Nurtur-E, HimanshuKumbhare, and along with co-host Saumil Shah started the podcast by introducing NLDIMSR’s CEO, Dr. Seema Saini, and our Director, Mr. Vijay Ramchandran, followed by the introduction of our esteemed speaker.
During the 70-minute session, the hosts put forward their questions and Sir provided us with his learnings and experiences over the years, and also gave instances on how he dealt with problems. Being an MBA himself, he spoke about how he left the corporate ladder to build up to something of his own, and today, after 6 years, his company is currently the fastest growing digital marketing company in Mumbai.
Key Learnings:
- Entrepreneurs are just people who identify problems in society and try to fix them.
- Always research and evaluate your idea.
- There is no set method of doing things in uncertainty. The trial and error method works best!
- Create processes to delegate tasks to people around you.
- Find your niche!
- Treat your team as an ‘Asset’, not a ‘Liability’.
- Never forget your small successes and failures in business because they will add value to your life.
- Look for mentors who would guide you and give you good advice.
E-CELL Case-a-thon 3.0
Nurtur-E, The Entrepreneurship Cell is organized a case study presentation for the first-year students, Case-a-thon 2.0!
The purpose of this competition was to encourage MBA students of all specializations, streams, and programs to research a specific topic related to start-ups.
This year’s topic was “Rapido’s rapid disruption in the world of mobility”.
Honorable director Dr. Maqsood Khan, along with the judges Dr. Baisakhi Mitra Mustaphi and Mr. Vasant Kumar Bhatia lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the event
E-CELL Case-a-thon 2.0
Nurtur-E, The Entrepreneurship Cell is organized a case study presentation for the first-year students, Case-a-thon 2.0!
The purpose of this competition was to encourage MBA students of all specializations, streams, and programs to research a specific topic related to start-ups.
This year’s topic was “The steady rise and sudden fall of Hike Messenger”.
We were honored to host Mr. BalasubramaniamGauthaman, Project Director, Ministry of Rural Development, and Mr. CharitAnchan, Digital Marketing Manager, Amazon as our esteemed judges for the event.
E-CELL Case-a-thon
The E-cell of NL Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research (NLDIMSR) organized Case-a-thon- a case study competition, where a series of case studies were presented by participants who were challenged to solve a real-life business challenge on 5th September 2020.
Case-a-thon’s topic was “Ban of TIKTOK- Can Chingari win the Battle Royale?”. A total of 5 teams were shortlisted consisting of 2 members each. The event took off with each team presenting their case followed by a 10 minutes Q&A session. Each team put forward their outlook explaining measures to ensure sustainability and increase the scalability in 20 minutes and presented their recommendations to judges.
The judges for the event were Mr N S Santosh Kumar (Co-Founder & CEO of BeeOnline.Education and Startmetric Professional Services) and Mr Muzzaffar Hussain (Founder of Apprify and an Angel Investor). They also did guide the students on the do’s and don’ts of a case study followed with an interactive Q&A session.
For a student, a case study helps in improving their analytical ability through studying, analysing and discussing actual business scenarios, also it can be used to gain expertise in responding quickly to new situations and environment. For budding entrepreneurs, it helps in facing a particular challenge and preparing an action plan.
The event concluded with announcement of runner up and a winner and vote of thanks.
