Dr. (Prof.) Suchismitaa Sengupta is a First-Class Commerce Graduate with a National Scholarship, Batch Topper and Medal Winner in Management Studies. She holds an M. Com (First Class) in International Business, M. Com in Finance and Commerce, and a PhD in Management from a State University of repute, accredited by NAAC with an “A Grade”. She has work experience of more than 23 years in Teaching, Research, Publication and Consultancy with leading organizations like Shalimar Paints, Castrol India Limited, i-Maritime Consultancy Pvt. Ltd., National Institute of Technology, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, ICFAI Business School, Army Institute of Management. Her teaching interests include Strategic Cost Management, Strategic Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Corporate Valuation and Management Control Systems.
She consulted for significant projects for clients like Container Corporation of India Limited, Danish Hydraulic Institute, Great Eastern Shipping, Transworld Group of Shipping & Logistics and Malaysian International Shipping Corporation. For the last 17 years, she actively involved herself in research, publication, and review activities with various national and international journals of repute. Her research papers have been presented and published in the proceedings by some esteemed international conferences organized by IIMs, IITs, Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Mauritius, American University of Dubai, International Management Research Academy, UK, etc. She has published research papers in various national and international Scopus-indexed & ABDC journals.
She has contributed book chapters to leading publishers like McMillan, Allied Publishers, etc. Only some doctoral students have completed their research work under her supervision and were awarded degrees in 2018. Her Research Interest includes Valuation Metrics for Companies, Performance Measurement of Banks, the Indian Stock Market, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises and Corporate Social Responsibilities.
